Women Wednesday: Scarlet Witch Pin Up

Yeah, I know today is the official launch of the new DC Universe with Justice League #1 being released today but Wonder Woman is not even in the book. Instead of celebrating another restart, I am posting this Scarlet Witch pin up from Women of Marvel - Celebrating Seven Decades Poster Book (2010):

Miss Midi

Many predict that the Midi Skirt is going to be HUGE this fall-unfortunately we don't have a 'fall' here in Delhi. Okay we have those 3-4 in October where you can pretend its fall but then just as you are getting into the mood of a nice comfortable chill BAM! the fogs hits you and you are frozen. True story. Thats why there is a cheap song called Dilli Ki Sardi- It will turn you into a popsciple.

ANYWAY- this skirt works well in our type of weather too (sticky hot and humid)

It`s nice,light and breezy!

Marc By Marc Jacobs

You don't have to be a prude or an uptight lawyer to wear them. I think they`re ultra feminine and playful and when worn right can make you look impeccably polished!

Popular in the 1940's the midi skirt was pushed off the scene by the mini skirt by the 60's. Then again in the 70`s it showed its face again. Well, what goes around comes around cos they're clearly back this year!

Its an extremely versatile piece to have in your wardrobe, specially if you want to change up your look once in awhile.

Very easy to switch it from day to night.

I do admit that it`s a little tricky to pull off. It can end up looking extremely dowdy and matronly.

If you go with a  bouncy and flared one then pair it with a fitted top. Add a little oomph to it with a nice top and the right kind of make up.

It is also very flattering to any body shape especially taller women. The midi will make you look lean and sophisticated.

(I recently ordered the cutest sandals that would go with a nice and flowy midi skirt. Not to hunt for the actual skirt!)

Imsu from As I Like It looks super chic in a vintage pleated skirt and a fitted top

Also I think its great to wear it in a city like Delhi-you arn`t exposing too much and wont be letched at quite as much. (Cleary that is a HUGE factor for me when I am choosing outfits. My style would be SO different if our country didnt SUCK so much in that department, Oh well thats for another post)

If they guy STILL wants to stare at ur ankles, well thats just weird.

So, what do YOU think of MISS MIDI

Ultimate Humungousaur Action Figure

We hit the local McDonald's last Friday afternoon expecting the Smurfs to still be scrambling in their Happy Meals. My sister was not happy when she saw the sign on the drive-thru menu stating that the toys were Ben 10 Ultimate Alien for boys and Twinkle Toes for girls. I ended up with the four and half inch tall Ultimate Humungousaur action figure, which is number one of the series. His arms and head turns completely around but that is all the action that he does. There is a piece of cardboard with a picture of the normal looking Humungousaur inside. This toy would have really rocked if it glowed in the dark.

Deadman TV Series

Deadman from DC Comics may get his own tv series on the CW according to DC’s DEADMAN being brought to life on television!. I would love to see this happen and hopefully it will last longer than either of the tv shows based on the Human Target.

Thrift Store Finds: Batflapper and Batmobile

I found the Batflapper and Batmobile yesterday afternoon at a local thrift store for fifty cents each. The Batflapper (I like that name) is actually Batman from McDonald's Young Justice Happy Meal 2011 line (thanks to Bubbashelby from Toyriffic for the correction after I misidentified him as part of The Brave and the Bold promo). His wings...er, arms and cape can be pressed down and released by pressing the bat on his chest. What I really like is that both sides do not have to be pressed down at the same time so he can be posed differently in that regards. His head turns 360 but nothing else does,

The Batmobile is from Hot Wheels and has gold rims. I still have one in the package but now I have one that I can actually play with.

Rainbow In Your Hair

I promise I am not being racist or anything, but personally I feel that since most Indians have jet black hair-there isn`t much variety. Of course people have different textures-curly wavy straight etc. But thats not my problem, my problem is that most hairstyles don't show on our hair, like the side braids made popular by Lauren Conrad.

Well they do show, you just have to be staring at the persons skull to see them. Another problem I have with our jet black hair is that if you want to colour it (like actual bright colour) you first have to bleach it THEN colour it. And thats way too much stress for the hair!
And whenever I see someone whose actually gone through this process, it results in the hair looking extremely DRY and MATTE. The hair literally DIES

I am very content with my jet black (frizzy as hell) straight hair but I would like to experiment once in a while
without it going through a bajillion chemical procedures, ultimately turning it into a BROOM.

Well the latest hair trend seems to be Pastel Hair. Which i quite like actually. Many might not agree with me, but its the right tone of quirky for me :)

I wouldn't mind these pastel streaks she had some time back.

Katy Perry experiments with her hair colour so much. I think she`s gone from red to blonde in just a month!!
It seems like she went blonde just for the Smurfs promotion, since she just went PINK!

See Priyanka Chopra wearing the same dress.

Recent additions to the Pastel Hair group.

I have always loved LC`s style and
I would do this in a heartbeat if it would actually show up on my hair!
btw, she has an amazing style/beauty site of her own now and its quite wonderful.

(also check out her blue ombre nails,in the left pic)

Kate Bosworth
Not liking how dull this is looking. Maybe if she had brushed her hair a little it would`ve looked better!

Sienna Miller has a faint aura of pink.

Dianna Agron is went pink recently. I quite like this, also I absolutely love her so there is a bit of a bias, I must admit.
She looks like a pixie :)

I also think most Indian women play it very safe, specially when it comes to hair-for the sake of healthy hair and apparently some syndrome that makes us not-too-daring in the hair cuts department.

I wanted feather extensions SOOO bad! I hunted for a place which did them and found none. And then Tanvii actually found me one in Delhi, while she was sitting all the way in America.

I did call them, but found out that they use real feathers, and I am not very happy with that fact. Read way too many articles about how they pluck them off of birds and how these birds are reared and kept in really bad conditions. So yeah I guess i should hunt for some colourful clip ons!

What do YOU think. Like the colour in your hair or just way too weird for you?
